Styron Introduces Technology Licensing Program

March 12, 2012

Berwyn, PA - March 12, 2012

Styron, the global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, announced the launch of its Technology Licensing program.

Styron will license three process technologies and related production rights:

  • mass acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (mABS),
  • polycarbonate,
  • styrene monomer.

Licensees will benefit from working with an experienced partner throughout plant construction and startup. Because Styron also operates its own manufacturing plants for these products, the company is committed to service, support, and advancement in both process technologies and products.

Advantages of licensing Styron’s process technology include:

  • Proven technology and success,
  • Comprehensive technology transfer and licensing services,
  • Dedication to the success of licensees and to continuing relationships to create future value,
  • Engineering, mechanical, and operations expertise assuring reliable operation,
  • Technology support and leveraging/sharing of operating learning experiences amongst the licensees.

“Our team has many years of experience in licensing process technology to other producers. Now with the formal launch of Licensing in Styron, we are strengthening and expanding our efforts in Licensing with a dedicated team,” says Scott Moore, director of Corporate Development and Technology Licensing for Styron. “By leveraging Styron’s decades of manufacturing and technology expertise, licensees can accelerate growth in emerging regions and feel confident in their choice of technology.”
