Styron Participates in MEDTEC 2012 Showcasing Advanced Solutions for Medical Applications

  • CALIBRE™ MEGARAD™ PC Resins – This is the polycarbonate of choice for gamma and e-beam sterilization processes. These grades utilize color compensation technology to provide improved color stability after sterilization resulting in parts that have less color shift and return to their near-original appearance quickly.
  • EMERGE™ PC/PET 9500CR Advanced Resins – An ignition, impact and heat resistant material specially designed for medical equipment housings and other applications that require enhanced chemical resistance. The formulation of this advanced resin is specially designed to endure repeated exposure to a wide variety of aggressive chemicals, including surface disinfectants and cleaners commonly used in the medical industry.

During MEDTEC on 27 September from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon, Styron will present in the Diagnostic Device Technical Forum. The presentation topic is “Advanced materials for single- and multiple-use medical devices housings”.
