BERWYN, PA, U.S.A. – September 12, 2013 – Styron, a leading global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, will serve as a corporate sponsor for the 250-year anniversary of the German Society of Pennsylvania. Styron recently made a donation of $10,000 in support of the German Society’s 2013-2014 programming.

"With this financial support, the German Society will be able to present a unique Bach Concert – featuring the Bethlehem Bach Choir & Orchestra in a new Singspiel called 'Young Meister Bach', which is composed by Chuck Holdeman, and the famous secular 'Coffee Cantata' by J. S. Bach – on its premises in early March 2014,"; said Hardy von Auenmueller, chairman of the German Society.
Other highlights for the German Society’s programming in 2013-14 include the Founder's Ball in November, a Bierfest in February, to be followed by a Hamburger Abend in a nautical setting, 'The Physicists' presented by a German theatre group, a Spring Fling at a local country club, and a Wine Tasting in the society’s garden. The society also provides regular German language classes, as well as music and film presentations.
