Styron, the global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, will be exhibiting for the first time at LED China, the largest LED lighting show in Asia Pacific. LED China will take place in Guangzhou where Styron will showcase a wide range of polycarbonate (PC) resins for lighting applications, under the brand names of CALIBRE™, EMERGE™ and TRINSEO CELEX™.
Styron has been supporting the LED lighting market with high-performance PC and compounds and blends, applicable for blow molding, injection molding and extrusion processes. The following are some key features of Styron’s Polycarbonate (PC) resins:
- High light transmission
- Combination of high light transmission and light diffusion
- Excellent heat resistance – continuous use temperature > 100°C
- Excellent thermal stability and weatherability
- UL flammability rating at 0.5 mm V-2 and 1mm/1.5mm ranging V-0
- High impact strength
The above ideal properties and performances of these PC resins allow Styron to support a wide range of lighting related applications, such as lenses, light tubes, light bulbs, electrical product housings, sign facings, light boxes and a wide range of light diffusers with different transmission levels.
