Advanced Resins for lighting systems at Strategies
in Light 2017, today through March 2, at the Anaheim Convention
Center in California in booth 314. Featured products include Transparent
and Light Diffusion Grades for Optics and High Reflectivity White and
Opaque Materials for Housings and Reflectors.
Trinseo’s EMERGE™ Advanced Resins feature innovative technology that
provides solutions to many of the constant challenges that face the
lighting industry including the need to balance light diffusion and
transmission, light weight, and design aesthetically pleasing, cost
effective housings.

Housings - EMERGETM PC 8030 Advanced Resins. The material
is UL 94 certified 5VA @ 2.5 mm and UL V-0 @ 0.8 mm offering the
opportunity to further control cost by using less material and
producing lighter weight parts. The material is UL 746C f1 certified,
indicating suitability for outdoor applications.

Light Diffusion - EMERGETM PC 8160 Advanced Resins. This is
a super-high-diffusion grade with an excellent LED hiding capability,
innovative glare reduction technology, and high flux efficiency. The
material is UL 94 certified V-0 @ 1.0 mm.
LED Lighting is supported by Trinseo’s Consumer Essential Markets (CEM)
business, which provides specialty engineered polymer solutions to
targeted markets including Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics,
Electrical and Specialty Sheet & Films. There has been a growing synergy
among the markets that Trinseo supports and its lighting grades in
particular have experienced recent cross-industry demand because of
